Meet our
Clinic Staff
Childress Regional Medical Center has a stable and
diverse medical staff. Each of our staff physicians
have a desire to meet the medical needs of the rural
population served by the hospital, believing that
residents in rural areas deserve the same access to high
quality medical care available in metropolitan areas.
Three of
CRMC’s staff members are Childress natives. After
completing their training, they chose to return home to
care for their neighbors and friends. Three more
physicians grew up in towns less than 30 miles away.
And there’s an old saying about “getting to Texas as
fast as I could” ----- two of our family practice
physicians say that about Childress.
Specialty
care in ophthalmology, urology and general surgery is
provided by physicians who travel to Childress on a
regular basis, eliminating the need for patients to
travel to larger cities for that care. Dr. Blake Avera
commutes from Wichita Falls on a monthly basis to
provide ophthalmological services. Dr. Richard Katseres,
a board certified general surgeon based in Altus,
Oklahoma, has a weekly clinic and performs surgery in
Childress. Dr. Mounir Zakhary is a board certified
urologist from Altus who provides a full range of
services for local patients.
Other specialty physicians with clinics in Childress
include Dr. Wayne Paullus, a neurosurgeon from Amarillo,
and Dr. Bruce Palmer, cardiology.
Professional radiology services are provided by High
Plains Radiological Associates in Amarillo, and
pathology services are contracted with Heartland
Pathology Associates in Norman, Oklahoma. Both of these
professional associations have longstanding contract
arrangements with the facility.
